Get to know Superior CO!

Ranked as one of Colorado's "Best Places to Live," the small town of Superior is tucked between Denver and Boulder. Located in Boulder County, Superior is twenty miles from Denver and less than ten miles from Boulder.

The notorious Boulder Flatirons stand as a permanent backdrop to the outstanding community. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to Superior for its vast open space, various biking and hiking trails, and of course the close proximity to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The area has 594 acres of park space, green space, and open space, with 27 miles of trails. Named after the "superior" type of coal the town produced in the 1800s, Superior has a rich history since it was founded in 1896. Superior has two highly ranked public schools and multiple private schools to choose from in the area.

While there are various chain restaurants and clothing stores to choose from, the town acts as a big neighborhood, frequenting the privately owned shops and eateries available throughout the community. Unlike being a suburb of Boulder or Denver, like you might assume, Superior has everything you would need within its own city limits. If you are commuting or just need a ride to the nearby Denver International Airport, Superior is well-served by Local, Express, and Regional transit routes operated by RTD.
